HOW CAN OUR SPECIALIST
EDUCATION TEAM HELP?

Specialist Education

1. Academic Development

  • We can adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning needs of children with disabilities. We can provide individualised instruction, offer alternative learning activities, and use multisensory approaches to help children grasp academic concepts in areas such as literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies.

2. Language and Communication Skills

  • We can support your child to develop their language and communication skills. We can also implement strategies to enhance listening comprehension, expressive language, vocabulary development, and social communication skills.  Our education team will also integrate any recommendations from your child’s allied health team including their speech pathologist.

3. Fine and Visual Motor Skills

  • We can assist your child in developing their fine and visual motor skills through targeted activities and exercises. Our education team will also integrate any recommendations from your child’s allied health team including their occupational therapist.

4. Family Engagement and Support

  • We work with you to help your child receive consistent support and continuity of care between home and school. We can provide resources, information, and guidance to you as parents or carers on how to support your child's development, advocate for their needs, and navigate the education system.

5. Customised Instruction

  • With one-on-one support, we can adapt instruction to match your child's learning style, pace, and preferences. We can use specialised teaching strategies, materials, and techniques to make the curriculum more accessible and engaging, promoting better understanding and retention of information.

6. Immediate Feedback and Support

  • We can provide immediate feedback, guidance, and support during one-on-one sessions, helping your child to correct mistakes, clarify concepts, and build confidence in their abilities. This real-time interaction fosters a supportive learning environment where your child feels valued, understood, and encouraged to take risks and persevere in their learning.

7. Targeted Intervention and Remediation

  • One-on-one support allows us to target specific areas of difficulty or skill deficits, providing targeted intervention and remediation to address learning gaps and challenges. They can design individualised learning activities, practice exercises, and assessments to reinforce key concepts and promote mastery of skills.
